Directories Preferences

The directories on the Preferences screen point to the ProForm files and templates that are shared across a network (On-Line) and those that are stored on a user’s local drive (Off-Line). If you are running the SQL server edition, these options will be unavailable to network client workstations.

On-Line Files Directory

Shared files are stored in this directory when you are connected to a shared ProForm database (on a network, for example).

The path can be entered using Universal Naming Convention (UNC) format. If left blank, the default is the program directory. In a network setup, the on-line files directory for a server and workstation must be the same.

Off-Line Files Directory

Files are stored in this directory when you are not connected to a shared ProForm database. If left blank, the default is the program directory on the workstation.

On-Line Template Directory

Shared templates are stored in this directory when you are connected to a shared ProForm database. The path can be entered using Universal Naming Convention (UNC) format . If left blank, the default is the program directory.

Off-Line Template Directory

Templates are stored in this directory when you are not connected to a shared ProForm database. If left blank, the default is the program directory on the workstation.

NOTE: If a directory you enter does not exist, you will be given an opportunity to create it. Click OK on the window that appears to create the new directory.
