Adding Prompts


Prompts that you want to include in your own custom ReadyDocs and merge documents can be added to the Prompts Manager using the Add button. You can save responses to prompts that appear in documents in the new prompt format and added to the Prompts Manager.

  1. From the menu bar, select Tools > Prompts Manager. The Prompts Manager dialog box displays.
  2. Click Add. The Prompt Edit dialog box displays.
  3. Enter a unique identification code in the Prompt ID field. This is the code that is referenced in ReadyDocs, merge documents, or Look-up table entries. The code may contain up to 50 characters. Do not use the pipe character (|) in codes.
  4. Type the text in the Prompt Text field. The Prompt Text will help the user understand how to respond to the prompt. The text may contain up to 100 characters. Do not use the pipe character (|) in text.
  5. Select a type from the styles provided in the Prompt Type field.
  6. Select OK.
